We signed Aubree and Maleah up for Private Swim Lessons. We are going to Mexico in April, and I've been really worried about Aubree because she wanders off, and she loves the water. She has no fear whatsover, and is just a crazy little monkey in the water. So I decided that it would be totally worth it to pay the price, and make sure that she knows how to swim and save herself by the time we go to Mexico.
My friend Laura told me about this lady in P.G. who does private lessons and she put her kids in last year. She prepared me well for how brutal it can be on your kids. This teacher is pretty hardcore. So today was their first lesson.
Maleah who is a total chicken in the water, did wonderful. I thought she would have a harder time, but I do think the teacher went easy on her for her 1st day. We'll see how it goes tomorrow.
Aubree on the other hand who I thought would just love it, cried almost the whole time. The teacher pretty much just forces them to do it no matter if they want to or not, and Aubree ended up throwing up twice during her lesson, because she swallowed so much water. Apparently this is normal, according to Laura (who said her kids threw up quite often during their lessons) and also it was no big deal to the teacher, I guess it happens all the time.
So anyways, we are signed up for 10 lessons and will be going pretty much everyday for the next two weeks. I'm excited to watch my kids learn how to swim. Apparently by the end of their lessons, they will be swimming across the pool, (one way or another) saving themselves in the deepend, and hopefully diving. How exciting. Maleah accomplished more today, in her 1st, 20 minute lesson, then she did in two weeks of public swimming lessons last year. I was so proud of her.
At the end of the lesson today, Aubree said
"See you tommorrow JoD, and I won't cry tomorrow K" It was pretty cute.
