NEW YORK

Kent and I went to New York last week for 5 days. It was so nice to get away without the kids. We went with another couple Brandon and Shar (Kent works with Brandon) Here are some of the highlights of the trip, in no particular order.

We went to Legally Blonde on Broadway, it was SO GOOD!
Definitley one of my highlights.



Shopping in China Town and Little Italy


Central Park was beautiful


We got to watch them film a scene of a soap opera called "The Guiding Light" It was really fun to see all that goes into it. The next morning I turned on the T.V. in our Hotel room and sure enough there they were, I'm not a big fan of Soap Opera's but of course I had to watch it because I had just seen the actors the day before.



M&M World in Times Square - I've never seen so many M&M's in my life


We stayed right in Times Square and saw many different talented and crazy people

Crazy Angel Lady - It's amazing what these people come up with to earn money


I loved this guy, he was selling a Rap CD of songs he wrote.


He put his snake around me without my consent.
I really got freaked when his head came right up by my face


This guy created beautiful pictures with spray paint
AMAZING! It was so fun to watch


TOP OF THE ROCK
We decided to go to the top of the rockefeller center instead of the Empire State Building. The view was amazing, New York is just mind boggling to me, SO MANY PEOPLE and SO MANY BIG BUILDINGS

There are so many amazing Artists on the street. They would draw your portrait for $10.00 I didn't really want a portrait of myself but it was definitley fun to watch.


We didn't have time to go out to the Statue of Liberty,
but we got pretty close when we went to Ground Zero

This is St. Pauls Cathedral, this was absolutley incredible. This little church was just across the street from the twin towers and all the buildings around it got really damaged from the rubble. The Cathedral was untouched. It became a place for the rescue workers to come and eat, sleep and rejuvenate themselves while working on the mess. Now inside the cathedral there are awesome stories, pictures, and memorials of all that happened on and around Sept. 11th There definitley was an amazing feeling inside this cathedral, and so much reverence for the people that suffered on 9/11. I got emotional walking around, It was a neat experience.



We went and saw Grease on Broadway. Taylor Hicks was supposed to be the Teen Angel but he wasn't there that night. I was so mad! That was one of the main reasons why we chose this play, and then we found out when we got there, that he wasn't going to be there. It was still fun and worth seeing. This was Kents first broadway play.



And the best part of all was the New York Cheesecake. If you haven't had Cheesecake from New York, then you haven't had real cheesecake. We got atleast 1 piece everyday we were there. I should have taken a picture!!!
