When do you take little white lies seriously?
It's Friday night, I just put Kendra to bed, and the other girls are getting their jammies on. Aubree comes in to sit by me on the computer as I was reading a blog. We can hear the end of the movie "Big" playing downstairs, where there is piano playing on the movie. Aubree starts telling me: "That's Maleah playing the piano, and Grandma just came over too, so there's two people playing that song. And Shayla just got here and she's playing the flute"
She is dead serious. Not even a 2nd thought given to what she's saying. Grandma is in St. George, and Shayla is not here or anywhere close. I'm just laughing inside, and think it's quite entertaining and funny. But she is always telling me stories, that she is so serious about. Like for instance, she told me that Max (our 16 year old neighbor boy) plays football for BYU, and thats why they have a BYU flag hanging on their house. When she told me this story, it was right after Kent had been to a BYU game, and she said "Daddy would have saw him playing there, but he was sick that day so he wasn't playing football that day"
Anyways, it's hilarious. It seems like she tells me stories every day that she knows aren't true, but she tells them like they are true. Sometimes I'll say "Are you just kidding, or are you telling the truth"? and then she'll smile and say, I'm just kidding, but If I don't ask, she will never say another word about it. For right now, I think it's cute, but I'm starting to think that maybe I should take it more seriously and correct her everytime.

ha ha. So cute and funny! I think it's the age. But if she's that good of a liar at 5, she's going to be awesome at 15!!!
