A very interesting night

I had an interesting night last night.  At first I wasn't going to tell anybody about it due to embarrassment, but a day later I can laugh about it, and think it's a good thing to record for journals sake.

I went to Enrichment, I was on the committee this month so I had to help set up, clean up etc....It was kind of a long night.  I came home tired (nothing new these days) and did a few things, then sat down at my computer to do my budget, pay a few bills etc....  At about 11:00 p.m. I stood up to go to bed and my pants felt really soggy and wet.  I went in my room and panicked when I looked in the mirror.  It looked like I'd peed my pants.  I knew for sure that I hadn't peed.  I've never done that before (at least since my college days)  I took my pants off, smelled them and it really didn't smell like anything, and for sure not urine.  I was SO confused, as was Kent.  It was a lot of liquid on my pants whatever it was.  Enough that I couldn't just ignore it and go to bed, but not enough for my water to have broke, and there was no more water coming out.  So I called my Dr's answering service and talked to the on call Dr.  he said I needed to come in right away to Labor and Delivery.

I really didn't want to go, I felt silly and paranoid, but Kent talked me into it.  So close to midnight I went to the hospital.  On my way, I got pulled over.   I was going 55 in a 35 zone.  YIKES!  The cop was super nice, and of course the tears started flowing.  He offered to escort me to the hospital.  I kept telling him, no it's not an emergency, I was just daydreaming and didn't realize how fast I was going and really shouldn't be using that as an excuse.  He kept insisting that he could escort me to the hospital.  I kept insisting I didn't need an escort, he let me go and told me to slow down because he didn't want an ambulance having to come and take me to the hospital.  What a nice police officer.   (Looking back I should have taken the escort, who gets that experience in their lifetime, plus it would have been a funny story)

So I got to the hospital, they knew I was coming.  I kept telling them how dumb I felt and that they were probably going to tell me I peed my pants and to go home.  They were so super nice.   They hooked me up to monitors, took my temp, my blood pressure and did a test down you know where, to swab for amniotic fluid and sent it to the lab.  Well to make a long story short, about an hour and a half later I was headed home with negative test results, no amniotic fluid and really just kind of a mystery.   I'm 99.9 percent sure it wasn't pee, it didn't smell like it, and I would have felt a peeing sensation.  The nurse said this happens more often then not and sometimes we just produce extra fluid while we're pregnant.  Whatever, I still think it's weird.

So I got home after 1:00 a.m,  that same day I had gotten 2 moles removed and had stitches.  While getting out of the car I felt a tug that hurt pretty bad on one of the moles and it turns out the stitches had popped open.  I came inside and it was bleeding like crazy.  Kent had to patch me up ( I couldn't reach the area) and I finally got to bed around 2 a.m.   What a night!

I still don't know if I should have just stayed home.  It was just one of those things that I didn't want to take a chance and be sorry, but felt really silly for going in.  I guess for the safety of my baby it was probably best to get it checked out. As embarassing as it was, I'm so glad it was nothing.  I'm only 31 weeks and would not have wanted to be on bed rest or in the hopsital for the next 6 weeks.  Anyways, it will forever be a mystery where the fluid came from, but made for an interesting night to say the least.

That EXACT same thing happened to me when I was pregnant with Ellie. So WIERD!! I still have no idea what happened and I am positive I didn't pee my pants ether...

I'm glad little Carson isn't quite ready to come yet. Good luck these next couple months. :)

That is hilarious. I kept waiting for you to say that you forgot you spilled some water on the chair or something! Crazy. I am glad you didn't get a ticket.

Pregnancy does weird things to us. That's all there is to it.
