50 YEARS!!!

We had a big 50th Wedding Celebration on March 26th for Kent's parents.  I am so proud of them for the accomplishment of being married 50 years.  They have definitely had their fair share of trials raising 7 children and many health problems, but through it all they have been best friends and have stuck together.  Ron is the sweetest man ever and would do anything in the world for Marva.  I marvel at his patience and love that he shows her.  I'm so lucky to be married to a man who has had a wonderful example of what a good husband is.  50 years is a long time, I get all emotional just typing about it.  Marva was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease when she was 43 years old.  She is now 68.  That is a really really long time to live with a crippling disease.  She really has held her head high, and accomplished and done so much in the last 25 years despite her health problems.  She has remained so positive and active and I think that is why she has done so well for so long.  Ron has been right by her side!  I'm sure when they got married 50 years ago, they never dreamed Marva would be so handicapped for such a huge portion of her life.  That is true love, sticking together through sickness and through health.  They are a perfect example of this.
I designed these invitations for their party!  We held it at a church in Payson and I was amazed at the crowd that came.  There was a steady stream of people all night and I would say at least 150-200 people came.

Marva with her wedding dress.  I'd say it has preserved pretty well.  I asked her how she preserved it so well and she said she rolled it up in a ball and put it in a bag in a closet.
