We got a puppy! I still can't believe it sometimes. I'm so baby hungry and have been unable to get pregnant despite our 2 1/2 years of trying. So I decided that maybe a puppy would help meet my baby hungry needs. I looked on KSL for over a month (about 5 times a day). I was slightly addicted to looking at puppies on ksl. But I knew that for me to love a puppy it had to be the cutest puppy ever. So despite seeing many cute puppies online, I wanted it to feel just right. After a solid month of doing research and looking on ksl and other websites, on July 10th Toby came up for sale on KSL. We saw his picture and knew we had to have him.
What's not to love about this puppy? I called the owner and talked to her for a long time about every little detail. I did research on the breed of dog and then called her back and said we want him. We had to drive to Tremonton to get him (they were from Lewiston, but willing to meet us in Tremonton). It was the scariest decision. I've never been much of a dog person and neither is Kent. But Kent agreed that if we did all the work, he'd let us get a puppy. It was seriously like Christmas morning and felt a little similar to driving to the hospital to have a child. I was so nervous. I wasn't sure if I could handle it or not, but I couldn't let this puppy go.
He is a Poochon. Toy Poodle and Bichon Frise mix. His Dad is a red toy poodle that weighs 6 pounds and his Mom is a white Bichon Frise that weighs 12 pounds. That's where he gets his apricot color.
Isn't he the cutest thing you've ever seen?
We met the owner at a gas station parking lot in Tremonton. This was the sweet little face we saw.
He looks like a little teddy bear. The kids took turns (every 5 minutes) holding him, the whole way home.
Fast forward 3 months and things are going pretty smooth. It's no walk in the park potty training a puppy. Our house flooded 2 weeks after we got him so that didn't make things any easier. We all seem to be adjusting though and he's still cute as ever.
