Bridger's Birth

I have been so excited to blog about Bridger's birth. We have so many darling pictures and I love to just look at them over and over.

The plan all along was to deliver on October 8th, but after meeting with maternal fetal medicine and seeing that his MCA levels were borderline high and also seeing that he was a big baby, they decided there was no reason to wait and moved up my delivery date by 2 weeks.  This was a huge answer to my prayers.  I was so incredibly miserable I didn't know how I would survive.  I had kept praying that if Bridger was ready to please let him come a little early.  I was nervous about having him 3 weeks early but my doctors assured me he would be just fine.

Here we are, ready to head to the hospital.  We had to wake up at 4 a.m. to leave our hosue by 5 a.m. and be there by 5:30 a.m.  I was excited about the early morning because I hadn't been sleeping well anyways and the nights were really long at this point.  Notice the braces on my arms.  I had the worst carpal tunnel because I was so swollen. The swelling and carpal tunnel were the worst parts of my pregnancy.

Getting prepped for c-section

Dad is all dressed up and ready for the c-section

Getting my spinal block

It was a terrible first 5-10 minutes after they did the spinal block.  I couldn't breathe and I felt like I was suffocating in my chest.    I'm so glad Kent got this picture.  It shows just how big my belly was.  Crazy to think Bridger was inside of there and then out 10 minutes later.  Babies are such a miracle.

The nurses made a cute name tag for Bridger

Here he is!! Bridger Kent Eggett, Born on Thursday, September 24th at 8:03 a.m.  He weighed 8 pounds 2 ounces and was 19.5 inches long.   They pulled him out of my belly and Kent said "oh, he's so tiny" and the Doctors said actually he's pretty big.  I had an ultrasound 9 days before he was born and they said he was 7 lbs 13 ounces on that day, so we were thinking he would be around 8 1/2 pounds.  Dr. Dabling was the delivering Doctor.

This was my first time seeing Bridger. The nurse brought him around the curtain for a quick peek before they took him to get checked out. I remember being so relieved that he was absolutely perfect and thinking how awesome his hair was and how beautiful he was.  I couldn't wait to hold him.

They wrapped him up and brought him to snuggle with my face before they took him to another room.  This is my most favorite time.  I will never forget the surreal feeling of meeting your baby for the first time.  I would do it 100 times if I could.  There is nothing like bringing a child into the world.

Below is a ton of pictures of him getting cleaned up, weighed and checked out.  All while I was getting stitched up in another room and sitting in recovery.

8 pounds 2 ounces

Once I was in the recovery room, Kent was texting me pictures of him.  He was giving me a play by play of what they were doing.  I had told Kent before hand that his one job was to get my baby back to me as quickly as possible.  He did a good job letting me be a part of everything and getting him back to me asap.  As he texted me pictures I just stared at them thinking how cute and perfect he was.

These were the first 3 pictures he texted me.

Apparently he didn't like getting his hair washed.

Check out all that hair.  We knew he would have a lot of hair because every time we got an ultrasound the tech would say he had a ton of hair.

The ultrasound tech also commented on his lips every time.  She would say, wow he's going to have big luscious lips.
Sure enough he did. Look at those luscious lips.

The picture below is the first time I got to hold him.  We did skin to skin, this was the best!  There's just nothing like a sweet new baby on your chest.

The kids came about 2 hours after he was born.  They were beyond excited to meet him.  This was a long wait for them.

First time holding Bridger for all of them.
Maleah 12
Aubree 10
Kendra 8
Carson 4

First picture of our 5 kids!  I'm so thankful I was able to bring 5 children into this world.

Aubree finally has her baby brother.

Meeting Grandma K

Heaven on earth

I love his hair

We had lots of visitors and I forgot to take pictures with all of them. Mikelle came down and visited.

Big Sister Kendra

Aubree got a cold after he was born so she had to wear a mask for about a week when she held him.

Bridger was born on a Thursday and on Saturday the kids all had soccer games and Maleah had volleyball.  Because I was in Provo it wasn't a real short drive so the kids didn't get to come down and visit.  We face timed instead.  It was a long, lonely day for me.  Kent finally came around 5:00 and stayed until 11 or so.

Proud Daddy!  He's been my rock through this whole pregnancy and birth.  He has had to really step it up and be Mom and Dad.  I love him so much!

First family picture

3 days old
I went home on Sunday.  Before Kent and the kids came to pick me up, I got Bridger dressed and did a little photoshoot.  I love these pictures so much.

Getting ready to go home.  The kids were anxious and I was nervous.  Not sure if I was ready!

Carson was very stand off-ish for a couple weeks.  He didn't want much to do with him or show much interest in him.

Ready for home....EEEEEEK!

Our van is full!

We went on a walk to get the mail one night and Kendra pushed him in her doll stroller.

So tiny in his little bed.
He sleeps in his rock n play right next to my bed.

Sweet Sweet Boy!  We are so happy he joined our family and so in love.  My heart is so full!
