Our Many Projects - Before and After

We have been thinking about moving for a while now. We finally decided after going back and forth for several months that with the scary economy right now, we would stay put for a while. So......... with that said, I decided (and Kent agreed, reluctantly) that we should put a little money and work into our house and do some things that we've been wanting to do. We've been saying for quite some time now that we're just going to be moving and so we haven't wanted to do much to the house. I finally decided that I want to enjoy the house I'm in, so that is the reason we've been doing all the fixing up.

So here are some before and after pictures of the projects we've been working on

KITCHEN CABINETS

Of course I forgot to take pictures of the cabinets before they started working on them, so this is from last Easter, but it gives you an idea of what color the cabinets were.

We painted our barstools red


HARDWOOD FLOOR
We got our hardwood floor refinished.
In these pictures it makes it look like we totally changed the color of the floor. It really is the same color, it just looks different from the angle and the lighting of the pictures.

BASEMENT WALLS
We got our basement painted. It feels so warm and cozy now with painted walls. I'm only posting pictures of the family room, but the whole basement is the same color.

I haven't hung anything back up on the walls yet. I kind of want to redecorate, so for now it remains bare.
