We spent most of our time SWIMMING. Maleah and Aubree could swim all day long, they love the water and it's fun to watch them swim. I won't be surprised if Aubree ends up on a swim team or who knows maybe swimming in the Olympics. That girl can swim. People at the pool just watch in amazement as this little 3 year old swims from one side of the pool to the other, with no floating device, like it's no big deal. And she never gets tired. I get tired just watching her. She has ALWAYS loved the water, and definitely has a talent of swimming. Maleah came home 1/2 black. She has such beautiful skin and tans SO easily.
Kendra on the other hand was not allowed in the pool. (NO DIAPER AGED CHILDREN ALLOWED) and the little kiddy pool that she was allowed in was FREEZING. So she spent most her time just chillin on the side. Chasing Balls and trying to get in the hot tub. I spent most of my time chasing her around and keeping her out of the pool. I did sneak her in a few times :)
We attempted to do some hiking up Snow Canyon....It was beautiful
But didn't last long.....the picture below explains why
We visited my Grandma McDonald
This is a 4 generation picture
My Grandma McDonald, My Dad, Me,
and my 3 girls
Just as a side note, My grandma was an amazing artist in her younger years. The painting above our heads is one of many amazing paintings she's done.

We were also able to go bowling, miniature golfing, ride go karts, eat at the 25 South Cafe on Main (the cafe that everyone has been telling me we have to try) I wasn't disappointed at all. They had great food and the cupcakes really were NUMMY!
Lessons I learned on this trip:
1- Sleep Deprived kids are not fun.
(They had way too many late nights)
2- Vacations are a lot of work with 3 kids and no husband
3- I won't be taking another trip without my husband (at least not while my kids are all so young and demanding) even though my parents and sister were a big help, everything still comes back to Mom. Bedtime, Meals, Diapers, Baths, Discipline, Grouchy Kids, Messes, traveling, and chasing a 1 year old around constantly. Needless to say it was an exhausting trip for me.
Thanks Mom, Dad, and Shayla for all your help!!

I love going to St. George! I will have to try that Cafe next time we go down there. It looks like you had fun. Vacations with kids are always more draining than they are relaxing (but worth it for them).
I agree, husbands are much more help then we give them credit for sometimes!!! Looks like a lot of fun. Oh, and your house is looking really cute!
What a fun weekend with your family! I still have a hard time believing that is Shayla all grown up....I will always picture a little 4-5 year old Shayla! :)
I can't believe Aubree is such a little fish, I bet that is amazing to watch her.
And your house looks awesome! I love the cabinets and floors....it makes me want to do mine!
Good Job Super Mom! Sounds like you need a vacation from a vacation.
I have to know how you did your cabinets...I LOVE THEM! I have wanted to do mine but have been scared they wouldn't turn out right.
Wow brave brave mama! Sounds like you had fun, I don't know if I could do it without Jeff though. Hey, I know my cousin will take your pics-the great thing is she doesn't charge a ridiculous amount like most photogs. She just found this really cool new spot that has some fun things to pose by. You have to pay like $15 but it sounds like it is worth it. She just took some bridals there (martha) check it out on her blog.

Remember when we loaded up in your motor home and headed to St. George? Your grandma looks the same as she did when we visited her--not a day older.
You are so brave...I barely go to the store with the kids if Zack isn't with me.
Sounds like you guys did a ton of fun stuff - great job being the cool mom!
I hear you on doing trips spouse-less... it is hard, but sounds like you did a great job and still had a lot of fun. I am glad you guys got to get away for awhile. Your daughters are beautiful... and I am jealous of Maleah's skin tone too... I would give anything for that skin, or for one of my kids to get skin like that. I also cannot believe Aubree can swim like that.... AMAZING!
We travel alone once a year too while Caleb is at work and we get to play. It is a little stressful!
Shelley, I can relate to the exhaustion. Whenever Rod goes out of town...I think there is no reason for me to stay home...so I plan an adventurous weekend with the 3 girls, my mom, & sisters. So many times I come back... totally exhausted thinking...It would have been so much easier to have just stayed home!
I love Kendra in her swim suit. I wouldn't be able to get enough of her baby chubbiness right now. And I love the pic of Maleah & Aubree's tired little bodies on the red rock. Their little bodies slouching over tells it all. so cute.
