One morning, shortly after my shower I was fixing Aubree's hair. My hair was wet, no makeup on. Aubree said "Mom you're only pretty when your hair looks like mine, and your face is only pretty when you put makeup on"
Sad? Yes. Rude? Yes. Innocent? Yes. True? YES. I wish I had roll out of bed beauty, or in this case, straight out of the shower beauty. But I guess I'm really just grateful I have the ability to shower, fix my hair and put on makeup each day so that I can look pretty....atleast in my daughters eyes.
A week or so later while getting ready for church. My hair was fixed but no makeup on yet. I had just fixed Aubree's hair and she said "Mom, my hair looks like yours" pause.....then she said "except our eyes don't look alike, but when you put makeup on your eyes then your eyes will look like mine"
Wow....Brutal. Such is life.
