Aubree Turns 6

This little girl turned 6 yesterday!
Here is the Birthday invitation I made for her party

We let her open all her presents from us at 7:30 in the morning before Kent left for work because she was having a friend party the night of her Birthday and we figured that way she would remember what was from who.  She lined up her presents in the order she was going to open them.

Her first and favorite gift was the princess barbies!!

Aubree loves new clothes, and loves to look cute.  This is nice for me because then I can buy her clothes for her Birthday and she actually appreciates them!

Aubree's friend party was a Hello Kitty Party.  I spent 3 hours decorating this cake.  It makes such a mess, and is so time consuming, but it's so fun to have the satisfaction of making a cute cake.
I was pretty proud of it and Aubree loved it too.

The finished product
A little side note:  Right when I got the cake done, I called Aubree in to take a picture of it.  She was really excited, she sat up on the table next to it to pose, and accidentally sat on the side of it and messed up the frosting quite a bit.  I cried and then cried some more. (I couldn't help it)  Aubree felt so bad.  So I quietly went and fixed it and called her back in to take pictures like it was no big deal.  She couldn't believe that you couldn't even tell where she messed it up.  This picture was taken after I fixed it, you can't even tell :)

Aubree insisted on an all girl party this year.  No boys allowed!  We ate Pizza and Grapes for dinner, Colored a Hello Kitty Picture, Played Bingo, Pin the bow on Kitty, Played a game called poor kitty, opened presents, ate cake and ice cream, and had a scavenger hunt at the very end for them to find their take home gifts.

Presents

I made this kitty and the bows all by myself.  Once again, kinda proud.  I think Hello Kitty is so cute!

Mom and Aubree
I think we look so much alike in this picture
Aubree is the sweetest girl.  She is my easiest child no doubt.   She's pleasant to be around, and is just plain cute.  Aubree loves to play with friends, ride bikes, play soccer and play house with Kendra.  She is loving Kindergarten and is learning to read like a champ.  She went into Kindergarten not knowing how to read at all, and her teacher told us at parent teacher conference a couple weeks ago,  that she is already reading above grade level. She's really catching on quickly.  Aubree loves her one on one time with Mom or Dad every night when she gets to read to us.  I love that time too.

Funny Story:  We went to Parent Teacher Conference a couple weeks ago, and her teacher and her student teacher were both there.  They said that on that same day at school, all the kids were sitting on the rug listening to Mrs. Beck read a story.  Aubree all the sudden got up and walked over to the mirror.  She just stood in front of the mirror for a good 2 minutes and looked at herself and tossled her hair a little, then came back and sat down.  They were laughing so hard.  That's my Aubree.  She has been growing her hair out and is loving all the fun things we can do with it.  Some days she wants her hair fixed 2 or 3 times throughout the day.  She loves to have cute hair and clothes on.

Happy Birthday Aubree! I'm sorry we missed it. Ashlyn didn't go to church today either. I told her she has to be all better tomorrow because I'm getting sick of her missing everything (and I think she's milking it a little).

I am oober impressed and jealous of your cake decorating skills! You should host a class! Also, Aubree sounds so cute (and is gorgeous as you already know). I would have loved to be in the room as she went to the mirror and tossled her hair :)
