Maleah is taking over my life. She is 8 years old, and is way too smart for her own good and for mine. A couple weeks ago Kent was out of town. I took the girls to McDonalds one night for ice cream cones and to play in the play land. They all had friends with them, so we ended up staying for a couple hours while they played. I had brought a book. Maleah was taking pictures with my phone and she took one of me reading my book and my mouth was open in the picture because I was chewing gum. The next morning I went to look in my texts to find a phone # of a lady I needed to call. I discovered that she had been texting Kent (who was in Texas) all morning, without me knowing. She was telling him that I embarrassed her last night because I was reading a book and chewing gum with my mouth open. She told him she was going to attach a picture, and she attached the picture she took of me and sent it in a text to Kent. I didn't even know how to attach pictures to my texts ( I know now, because she taught me) She has also had to teach me how to change my ring tones and other uses of my phone. She is constantly texting my Mom, My Sister, My Cousin etc...
She also logs onto my e-mail, she looked up my password in a place where I keep my passwords. She signed her and her sisters up for club penguin online and they send a parent e-mail for the parent to accept that it's ok. Well no worries, she just logs onto my e-mail and accepts it herself. So much for the parent permission. This morning, I logged onto my e-mail only to find that several of my e-mails had been read, as well as an e-mail saying I had a new comment on my blog from me. It said (under Carson's 23 week post) "Chubby but adorable, I just love baby boys" She posted that. I'm tellin ya, she kills me. It's a bit concerning but also kinda funny. Everything comes so easy to her and if she doesn't know how, she'll figure it out. She's a lucky girl that way.
We went to parent teacher conference last night. Her teacher says that she has never met a more responsible little girl. She doesn't let her teacher forget a thing, and has a memory like you wouldn't believe. Yesterday Ms. Doman was talking to a student named Parker and telling him he needs to focus and stay on task. When Ms. Doman was done talking, Maleah (who sits next to Parker) nicely says: "Parker you should just do things right the first time, and then you wouldn't have to do them over and over again" That's my Maleah. Always trying to be the little Mother hen.
Maleah and I watch the biggest loser together. It's our favorite show. Yesterday morning, she asked at 7 a.m. if she could come in my room and watch the biggest loser that was recorded on our DVR. I wanted to sleep a little longer, so I told her to come back at 7:40. She came in at 8:00 and said, Mom remind me I'm at 49 minutes on the biggest loser. I asked her if she snuck in and watched it (I couldn't believe I had slept through it) she said "no, I watched it online" I asked her how she knew how to do that, and she said "um.....Mom at the end of every biggest loser it says to go to nbc.com to watch the biggest loser" ok, well I guess she told me.
Tonight as I was cooking dinner, she came in complaining that she was hungry. It was 5:04 and I told her dinner would be ready at 5:30. Next thing I know she's saying "That's so far away, that's exactly 1,560 seconds away" She had gone and got the calculator to times 26 minutes by 60. Where does this girl come from?
I guess it's probably time to buckle down, change my passwords and not let her know where my passwords are. Nothing gets past her, it's scary how good she is with technology, computers, phones, and just her smart little brain. It's baffling.

WOW! Are you sure she is not a genius? She has always been so smart and capable....just think what she'll come up with when she is 16! :) :)
I love this, Shelley. She cracks me up! You are in for it! It'll all pay off when she's older and a multi millionaire

All I can say is - good luck. :)
