I am so excited about this desk. It's ugly, but luckily we have always had room for an office in one of the bedrooms, where no one can see the ugly desk. But it's time to move the office into our front living room (soon to be office) so that Carson can have a room. There was no way I was putting this ugly thing front and center in the first room you see when you walk in our front door. So I told Kent we either have to buy a new desk, or refinish this one. I was dreading the project, but it turned out to be kinda fun and easier then I thought. I now want to re-finish more furniture, or look for ugly furniture at yard sales that would look awesome refinished. I got all my tips from the blog "all things thrifty" there's a link to it under my friends list. They have really easy tutorials on how to do stuff like this, and some really fun things they've done with old furniture.
Here is the Before picture
And the finished product , Isn't it beautiful?
I even like the handles now, and I couldn't stand them before.
A close up look
Kent and I worked as a team. He did all the priming and painting, and I did all the glazing and topcoat. I now feel like a pro. If anyone needs tips, I'm happy to help.

I LOOOOVE it!
That looks great! I wish we could redo our stuff, but Sauder just doesn't tolerate that kind of treatment. Ha, ha!
It's so pretty!
I like refinishing furniture too! It can get addicting!
