Sweet Boy - 2 weeks old

I just can't get enough of this little boy.  He is the sweetest thing ever.  He hardly ever cries, and is a very peaceful baby.  He sleeps all day long, and then isn't sleeping well at night.  We've got to do something about this because Mama is not going to last long on this schedule.  Its just so hard to keep a sleepy baby awake, but I am bound and determined to keep him awake this evening so that hopefuly he does better tonight. I've also never put a baby in our bedroom before.  But due to the circumstances we don't dare have him in his own room, so he's right next to my bed.  He is a noisy little sleeper and grunts  all night.   Carson is almost 3 weeks now, but most of these pictures were taken around the 2 week mark.

I've only given him 2 baths since he's been home.  It's such an ordeal to remove the oxygen and heart monitor stuff that I just don't like doing it.  However, when I do give him baths I snap lots of pictures because he is oxygen free for a minute.

Wide Eyed

He gets so relaxed after the bath.  Here he is is all fresh and clean and just chillin so relaxed.

Thank heavens for bouncers

Such a worried little face.

I feel like he changes every day.  I can't quite get a feel for what he really looks like because he looks so different to me each day and in every picture.  That's why I take so many :)

Giving him a bath with all the girls.  This is how they teach you to do it in the NICU.

Wrapping him in a blanket before I put him in the water makes him so relaxed.  He loves it.

All snug and clean

Daddy and his boy

Usually I get pictures of my kids with their grandparents in the hospital but because Carson was in the NICU, no one really got to see or hold him .  So as they come and visit I've been taking pictures.

Aubree is the best little babysitter.  She loves to cuddle with him laying on her.

I am hoping so bad that he gets to go off his oxygen this week.  I take him in tomorrow to the Dr. and they will do a test at the office without oxygen.  If he does ok, then they will order a 12 hour room air sleep study.  They put him on monitors for one night and see how he does without oxygen.  If he passes then we are done with it.  I am so tired of the oxygen.  I have to put it back in his nose about 100 times a day no joke, I feel like it's rubbing his nose raw, it stretches out his nostrils and pushes his nose up and looks so uncomfortable when he nurses.  It's always pulling on his face one way or another depending on how he turns his head, and sometimes it falls down in his mouth and he doesn't know what to do with 2 little poky prongs stuck in his mouth.  Poor little guy.  Not to mention I would just love to enjoy his sweet little baby face without oxygen on it.   Anyways, can you tell how much I'm hating the oxygen.  I hope hope hope he is ready.  He's almost full term, so I would think he'd be ready, but I guess we will find out tomorrow.  Wish us luck!

Lucky you you have already lost all the weight! Good job. Don't worry about getting back on the bandwagon yet just don't gain like I did. Take time to just enjoy him and then join me in the rat race in a month or two. :) He's gorgeous. I wish I could hold him. And I hope he gets that tube off soon too!
