Look Who's 4

Kendra turned 4 this week.  She was so excited for her Birthday.  She's been planning it for months now and has changed her mind a million times.  It's been a very long wait for her.  We had a little Birthday party with her friends.  I took them all to McDonald's to eat and play.

Opening Presents before we left for McDonald's

Politely eating their happy meals.  They were so good and well behaved

On Kendra's actual Birthday she opened her presents first thing in the morning.

This was all Kent.  It's so like him to make a little display for a picture :)

Kent took a half day off on her Birthday and took the girls swimming at the Legacy Center.  I stayed home with Carson and made a cake and folded laundry.

It's a good thing I snapped a couple pictures of it before they got home.  You will see why below.

While everyone was showering and getting ready after swimming, Kendra thought it was time to eat cake.

She just dished herself up a piece

She felt bad at first, but I told her it was ok.  Then we kind of got a smile out of her :)

We went to Pizza Pie Cafe for her Birthday dinner, then came home and sang Happy Birthday.

Our Big 4 year old

Kendra is a delight to be around.  She is a very happy little girl, she's easy going and wants to please (most of the time).  She is a hard little worker.  She loves to work out in the garden, she will clean a messy toy room all by herself just to make me happy.  She loves to ride her two-wheeler, play house and babies, do puzzles, suck her thumb, watch movies, work outside with Dad, pack up backpacks or bags or lunch boxes with all kinds of random items.  She is a little pack rat and wants to save little receipts or papers.  She loves to kill a tree everyday by how much paper she goes through each day.  I taught her how to make snowflakes recently and that has been her newest hobby almost daily.  If not snowflakes, then she makes pictures and cards for all her friends and packs them up in some sort of container, and then I find it later when she has forgotten about it.  She is quite a little mess maker and moves from one activity to the next all day long.  Kendra loves books.  We have a bedtime ritual where me or Kent will read her 3 books each night in bed, then we leave her room and she reads for awhile after that.  It's funny to listen to her read the books and repeat what we just read but in her own little version.  She loves mud and dirt and sand.   She sucks her thumb constantly right now.  I'm blaming it on the new baby.  She even talks with her thumb in her mouth which drives me crazy!  She is the sweetest big sister and smothers her brother all day long.  When I'm nursing him she's always sitting right next to me or on top of me watching.  And it has to be on the side his head is on, so she can rub the top of his head.  She tells me all the time that she wants to be a baby.  I adore this little girl!

She and Libby sound so much alike! Except she seems much nicer and sweeter. But they have the same interests, love to make messes, and love their thumbs. I'm so glad she loves her thumb too. You're the only friend I have in the same boat on that one. :)

I cannot believe they are turning 4 already. Emily in a couple of weeks. I really wish that McDonald's would do the birthday parties like they did when I was little. Cute cake!

She is getting so big!!
