Fishing

One thing on our Summer Bucket List this year was to go fishing.  There is a cool little lake up by the Mt. Timpanogos temple in American Fork that is for half swimming and half fishing.  We decided to try it out.  It's
my kind of fishing.  Together with my sisters family we probably caught 15-20 fish.  They were all pretty small and most we threw back in the lake, but 4 of them died before we had the chance to throw them back so we kept them and took them home to cook.

Shayla and I just chillin with our fishing poles

Kendra was especially excited about going fishing, she's been begging for months.  She was really into it.

Patiently waiting

I think Kendra caught the first fish, it was just tiny but we didn't care.  It's just fun to have the excitement of reeling in a fish.

Shayla and Carson just happy to be there

Maleah got the biggest fish of the night.  We took this one home.

Shay was easily discouraged and gave up quickly.  At the very end of the night she decided to give it one more try and caught a fish.

Kent thought we needed to document us cooking and eating the fish.  I appreciate store bought fish SO much more now.  We were both pretty disgusted with the fish after gutting, cooking, de-boning, and trying to eat it without getting any bones.  We both decided we will fish just for the thrill and will no longer keep the fish for eating.  It's too much work, and too gross.   The Nettesheims went with us, and Matt was very eager to let us take all the fish home.  Now we know why.  He's no rookie :)

I might look happy, but really I was just grossed out
