Thyroid Cancer

My Mom found out about a month ago that she had Thyroid cancer.  She went to the dentist and he told her that her sinuses were really clogged and she should go to an ear nose and throat doctor.  So she did and he found a lump on her thyroid.  They did a biopsy and it came back suspicious of papillary cancer.  We were all in shock.  I went through so many different emotions.  The more I learned about it the more we realized that if you are going to have cancer then thyroid is a good cancer to have.  They removed her thyroid and sure enough she had 2 different kinds of cancer on both sides.  It's so good to have that behind us.  Now they will keep a close eye on her and she may need further treatment but hopefully that will be it.  I'm so grateful for medical technology.  We went and saw her in the hospital.  The combination of the anesthesia and the morphine made her really silly.  We got a big kick out of her.  I've never seen my Mom so talkative and giggly and silly. It was fun.
