Yellowstone Day 3

Friday was a fun day.  Probably my favorite of them all.  We started off the day with seeing some huge Elk.  They were right on the side of the road and we were one of the first to pull up to them.  They hung out for a long time and then slowly crossed the road in all their beautiful glory.  There is just something so peaceful and serene about seeing animals in the wild.

We stopped to see several water falls this day.

We saw a lot of Bison too.

Breath taking Beauty

Molly and Carson are so stinking cute together.  This picture explains their relationship so well.  Molly loves to boss Carson around and get after him about every little thing he does (in a 3 year old fashion) and Carson is completely clueless and just happy go lucky.  Here she is probably telling him not to run or something.  I love their faces.

Molly 3 years old and Carson 2 years 3 months

They were best buds and held hands everywhere they went

We stopped to eat lunch before hiking down to the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone.  Kendra was the first to spot this Elk. Eventually a park ranger came and made us all get away, but it was fun to be so close while it lasted.

Getting ready for the hike

To get to these falls you had to go straight down about 400 stairs to get there, plus some dirt trails in between.  The elevation drop was unreal and we all got so shaky.  My knees would not stop shaking.  The sight was incredible.  I just was in awe the whole week at the beauty of everything around me.

After visiting several waterfalls we ended the day with swimming at the Firehole Swimming Hole.

Then we headed back for dinner and a play at the Play Mill.  We saw Beauty and the Beast.  I was so surprised at how good it was.  Well worth the time and money.

The guys stayed home during the play with Carson and Molly and had Oreos with milk.
