San Fransisco - September 2014

Kent and I went to San Francisco in September.  It was such a fun trip.  It's so nice to get away and have Kent all to myself.  I came home feeling so rejuvenated in all aspects of my life.

On the plane

We got there early on a Wednesday and headed down to Pier 39 and Fisherman's Wharf.

Finally a store that understands.  It's rough being left handed in a right handed world.

Watching the Sea Lions

We rented bikes and rode 15 miles round trip to the Golden gate bridge and back.

We rode all the way across the bridge and back too.  It was a long, tough ride but SO MUCH FUN!  This was definitely my favorite thing we did.

Lots of selfies.  It happens when it's just us two :)

We rode the trolley car from one end to the other, and we hung off the side just like this the whole time. It was such a blast.

Kent had to work for a couple days so I did a 2 day hop on hop off bus tour that took me to see all the sights in San Fran.  I was nervous at first to sight see alone, but was feeling like a pro in no time.  It was actually really fun to be on my own timeline.

China Town

Fortune Cookie factory in China town

Lombard street.  It's nearly impossible to get a good picture of Lombard street, but boy was it neat.  I also had a good cry on Lombard street.  My kids were throwing up at home with the babysitter and I was contemplating coming home early.  I had a good cry, was reassured by the sitter to stay and have fun and then that's exactly what I did.

We took a bus night tour one night.  It was beautiful and cold and really interesting.  They took us all over San Fran, and across bay bridge.  You learn such neat stuff on bus tours.

Freezing our buns off.

Bay bridge

I went to Sausalito one day. It's a quaint little town on the other side of the Golden Gate bridge.  It has so much charm.  Pictures just don't do it justice.  I enjoyed the beauty, shopped in the shops, got some really great shoes, and ate some yummy icecream.

I went to Golden Gate park and saw some Japanese tea gardens. They too were really beautiful and different.

We ate at pier market.  I got clam chowder.  Yum, I want to go back just for that.

We met a couple from Washington on our night bus tour.  They were LDS and we got talking.  Both of our husbands were working (hers only until noon) so we decided to meet up for Brunch in the mornings.  She was fun to talk to.

Bethany and I - My new friend :)

We got these beautiful crepes one morning at brunch.  It was prettier than it looked.

I couldn't leave San Fransisco without finding the Mrs. Doubtfire House and the Full House houses.

This was shortly after Robin Williams died.  There was chalk art and flowers all over the sidewalks and porch in memory of him.
Full House
We also couldn't leave San Fran without getting dessert at Ghiradelli.

Until next time!  Thank you San Francisco for a great time.
